Calendars Printing and 6 Functional Design Ideas

Calendar printing can involve a lot of things and not just calendars, I might add. This is to say that designing your calendars can include other elements that would help fulfill your purpose or need for calendar printing.

Calendar Strengths

If you have set your eyes on calendars, then you know very well what its greatest strengths are:

• It can serve as a lovely gift during the holidays or as a promotional item you can send out to employees, clients and business partners alike.

• It is an advertising tool as well as it gives you and your company visibility throughout the year.

• It can double as a catalog that showcases your different products or amenities and the like.

• It is a great reminder that organizes dates for personal use or otherwise.

Calendars are multi-function print materials which nobody really throws out unless the year is out. So for the rest of the year, you or your respective friends and clients can very well glance at those calendars, ideally 365 times a year.

With this kind of exposure and the number of other people it could also potentially reach, calendars are just a splendid idea to remind people or yourself of things, events, and places that you need to remember.

Functional Calendars Design Ideas

Calendars can be made, of course not just for commercial or corporate uses, but as a personal favor you can enjoy giving to friends and family. Either way, you can make it truly effective and useful with these great ideas.

1. Make calendars like appointment books. When designing your calendars, take note of featuring a special event or promo that you do annually. Highlighting this yearly event and the date can help people get wind of it earlier and plan earlier as well.

2. Leave spaces for notes where your clients can jot down what do for that particular month or day. These notes can be inspired by the appointment for that month, consequently, the same promo or offer you indicated.

3. Highlight several dates on the design. You can make your clients updated with groups of dates highlighted on the design. This can help them identify the series of seminars or workshops that you have prepared.

4. Themes are always important for the design. Themes help solicit certain memory or emotions that can jog the memory. This proves effective as people can readily retain your message and the idea you are trying to impart.

5. Create Pull-Out Postcards from your calendars by having them perforated. This does not only make for another freebie item for your clients, but it allows them to send out your message to other friends, acquaintances and the like. To this, make sure you include you contact numbers, email, address and the like.

6. Mark Important Occasions. While this tip is fairly common, there is a different twist to it. If you’re making calendars for, let us say, weddings and the like, you can compile photos for your calendars. And for each photo on each month, you can duly highlight when that picture was taken.

This makes for a highly intimate and personal calendar you can share with your loved ones. This makes for too a highly memorable calendar you might not want to throw away, ever.

Use these calendars printing ideas and turn your calendars into the most functional and memorable ones yet. Do not limit your imagination and create combinations and invent new ways you can enjoy your calendars.

I have a huge library of music(mp3s) and want to find a way to print them out on my computer. copy doesnt work

I have tried to copy and paste into notepad, word, etc to no avail. tried doing this from wmp 10 and from my music folder and even tried to save all songs as a txt file. any suggestions on how I can print out all the songs I have for a party im am throwing so guest can pick and choose what they like? thanks for any help. Rc

You have several options:

A) The easiest I know is by using iTunes. If you already use iTunes, just go into File>Print and that's it.
The neat thing about this, is that you can choose to print only certain songs if you want, by just choosing a specific playlist. It not only prints the name of the song, it also prints the artist, album, time, total number of songs, and even how long it would take to play it all. Mine says it would take 3 weeks! You can also print album covers (if you have those in your songs) and CD box inserts.
Of course, if you don't have iTunes yet, then you may wish to try the other options first. If you decide to install iTunes, be careful to tell iTunes to NOT organize your music automatically, specially if you want to keep using other music software.

B) The second easier way is to install special software for printing file folders. There are several programs, some you have to pay for.
* "Print Folder Pro" by No-Nonsense Software is popular.

* TreePrint by PC Magazine is free, but not as pretty:

* Karen's Directory Printer is another choice, with a lot of options

There is more software that prints file lists, if you search out.

C) Another option is to take snapshots of your folder, and then putting it in Paint or Word for printing.
You go into your music folder, press the Alt+PrintScreen keys, and then you paste in Paint or Word. You need to do this for each screen you want to print.
If you have a lot of files, this one can be tedious. But it's free, and you don't need to install anything else.

D) The last option I would offer is one which many everyday computer users like to avoid: using the black box of the command prompt. This is the option that most of the above people have suggested. If you are comfortable with the command prompt, then go ahead and use this one. Otherwise, try the other options first.
As others have said:
1 - Open the folder where your music is.
2 - Open the command prompt, through Start>Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt (in Windows 2000, 2003 or XP) or Start>Programs>MS-DOS Prompt (in Windows 95 or 98)
3 - Type into the command prompt:
cd
[that's the letters c, d, and a space]
4 - Drag the folder you want to print into the command prompt.
5 - Click on the command prompt, and press Enter
6 - Type the following:
dir /b /s > music_list.txt
and press Enter.
7 - A new file will appear in the folder, name "music_list"
8 - The file may open in Notepad or Wordpad, depending on how much music you have.
9 - Print the file by going to File>Print.

Hope that helps.

(If you have a mac, you can also print a folder by dragging the folder to the printer icon)
