Create a Cozy Home
Create a Cozy Home Off to the store so many of us go time and time again, to find that special "gift" for ourself. Whether it is a decorative teapot, a good book or a a wicker basket, we arrive home, not quite sure how to arrange our new purchases. Many of our purchases are beautiful to look at individually, but perhaps if somehow the items were grouped together with other small items, we could create a mood setting of a cozy atmosphere. I took my teapot and put it on a large (silver plated) platter, any platter would do, with 2 linen napkins in napkin rings. I also took an old tea canister and put it on the platter along with other tea accessories. I placed the platter on the sofa in the living room. That one filled platter had created a cozy setting transforming the room. I then filled the basket first with fabric, folding the ends, then with tiny scented soaps, a bottle of lotion, and placed it in the corner of the entrance of my home. Not only did this create a cozy corner, I also knew I could put my keys in the basket each time I entered my home; knowing they would be there the next morning. See what you can gather and group together...perhaps you have a picnic basket? Fill it with newspaper, fabric on top... then start adding beautiful things to it, grapes, wine glasses, a good book, why not put it in your kitchen, it could be a fruit basket, a centerpiece, and a place to come to read your book when you find that precious time to do so. And best of all, it will make your kitchen cozy. Visit our store for: 1)UNIQUE gifts and more to help make your home cozier. 2) Bring together 2 photos for an incredible experience (see our featured ad) 3) Listen to music of Yesteryear... just type in the year (see our FREE section) www.igiftsandmore.com

What would make you feel cozy, comfortable and happy when you come home? ?
Okay so this is a pretty general question right? Well, I actually need a little guidance here. I'm getting married in..oh month from today actually. We both agreed that from that point on, I'd be staying at home - since we'd like to start a family soon. That way I can make our house into a home, and do whatever I need to do to 'nest'. However, I want to take this opportunity to create the warmest, coziest, happiest home possible. What are some things you find inviting, relaxing and comforting when you come home from a long day at work? What sorts of things do you like to see? I have a pretty good idea of things he likes, and I keep our place fairly clean. But what little things do you appreciate? Having some insight might help me to go above and beyond the regular and really make a special environment for him, and eventually our children. Both men and women can respond with hints and tips if you have them. Please help me with some ideas! Thanks everyone!
Fall is coming...if you have a fireplace get a fire going...
Bake an apple pie---sounds gay but the smell is very nice to come home to. You can play some soft music he might like too--and have a nice meal prepared....if your planning a family now is the time to engage things as a couple..you'll never have this alone time again. Not that you will never BE alone--but it will have to be planned and it changed alot when children are involved.
I would take nice baths together--light candles..do alot of talking and cuddling...enjoy the quiet.
Put out some family pictures from both your sides in some nice frames. Buy an electric blanket for the winter--nothing is nicer to snuggle under.
Scented candle from yankee candle company are nice even if you don't light them---something very fall like pumpkin or apple makes a home smell very nice.
Paint or wall paper to make the house warmer...
Decorate a little for halloween---this way your ahead of the game when the kids do come...start some photo albums...
Buy really good sheets too--the expensive ones are worth every penny!
Good Luck!
