what equipment would you need to make a key for office furniture using the code on the lock?

no not stealing anything. Ive seen other companies doing this using only the lock code on the office equipment and I was trying to determine the startup cost to create a business myself.

You can buy a machine to make keys from the codes. It doesn’t grind the key like you see in the local hardware store. It actually punches the notches into the key and the code is the depth it need to be notched to. You don’t need a key to copy. Most of the key cutting machines use a wheel cutter to just copy another key. The one I’m talking about was more of a punch that actually cut the key like a shear, one notch at a time. Sorry I can’t remember the name and haven’t had any luck checking on-line.
You might check with the person responsible for locks at a school district or college.
